"Brant" Llife-sized carving. Solid body made from the butt log of a 200-year old white cedar log from Anson, Maine. The head is out of the same log and wood with the grain married to the body. The wood grain follows the same shape of feathers. The model for this carving is from a mounted Brant in excellent plumage shot over Brant decoys in 1960 off "Slate" Island facing Crow Point, Hingham, Massachusetts.
